This course explores the practice of intentional listening as a core competency for leadership and professional service. Participants will examine why listening to understand is fundamentally different from listening to reply, exploring the psychological and physical benefits of high-quality communication. The curriculum identifies the stages of listening—from passive hearing to transformative awareness—and provides evidence-based techniques to build trust and empathy. Students will also learn to recognize the emotional drivers behind interruption and develop strategies for self-regulation to maintain presence in high-stakes environments.
